It was when the Israelites “saw” that Moses delayed to return their hearts fell and they sinned.
There is a constant battle to accept the truth which is the last thing God said concerning you and fact based conditions that appear before you. You must fight to remain rooted in belief in God’s word. It is everlasting and can not fail never losing potency to fulfill its agenda. Hold on to the word no matter how long it takes and you will see it also manifest in your life.
It is pride and ignorance that encourages the idea that God’s influence and will on our lives can be substitutes with our own imaginations, culture and expectations.
Often times when we react to what we see instead of holding on to the truth in God’s word is the opportunity we give to substitute peace with fear. We fight to remain grounded by looking forward to the joy of the salvation of the Lord. That living hope births strength, it is like oil that soothes but it takes faith to determine oneself to choose to believe and not give up.
When the people saw that Moshe was taking a long time to come down from the mountain, they gathered around Aharon and said to him, “Get busy; and make us gods to go ahead of us; because this Moshe, the man that brought us up from the land of Egypt — we don’t know what has become of him.” Aharon said to them, “Have your wives, sons and daughters strip off their gold earrings; and bring them to me.” Sh’mot (Exo) 32:1-2
